Matthew Lloyd Architects was appointed by Sanctuary Housing Association to refurbish this 6-storey residential building at the end of a Grade II Listed Georgian terrace in Pimlico, converting it to social housing flats.  The completed scheme comprises seven 1 and 2-bed flats, accommodating 19 people.

Little remained of the original fabric internally, apart from the fine staircase, and the proportions of the original rooms had been obscured by the partitions rebuilt in its previous conversion to bedsits. Leaving the staircase untouched, most of the interior was demolished and rebuilt, taking particular care to restore the original appropriate proportions of the large front rooms. A palette of restrained, elegant colours is used throughout.
